When Hollywood’s rich and famous need some Halloween props, they go to Dapper Cadaver. Filled with custom props and set pieces, such as headstones and caskets, and made to order corpses, this is also the place where film and TV studios go when they need a quality looking dead person.
The first degree burn victim over there? Starred in “Law & Order.” How about those rotting dobermans behind you? As seen on “Bones.” Musical icons that rely on realistic gore, from Alice Cooper to Marilyn Manson and Insane Clown Posse turn to Dapper Cadaver for all of their entrail, fetus, and decapitated head needs.
Best part? Almost everything is for sale and at a decent price (especially compared to the mass produced props of the chain Halloween stores).
Founded in 2006 by BJ Winslow and his wife Eileen, Dapper Cadaver spent its first few years of operation at a storefront on Hollywood Blvd. near Western. Now settled not far from the Burbank Airport in Sun Valley, the shop caters to not only industry professionals, but the general public. (they also keep an entertaining blog that caters to people with similarly morbid interests).
