It’s the holiday season…

Here’s my rule: On September 1st, I can begin buying crap for Halloween. But I can’t begin putting it up til October 1st.

I don’t do this for anyone else’s sanity besides my own. As much I love Halloween, I’ve found myself burning out on the spirit even before Oct. 31 rolls around, and I want to keep that Halloween candle burning at least through the Day of the Dead in the first week of November.

Which isn’t to say I don’t cheat throughout the year – buying the occasional Halloween knick knacks, searching out possible new additions to my annual Halloween S’Carols mix.

I’m hoping this blog helps keep away the burnout factor – although as I seek high and low for fun Los Angeles Halloween tidbits, it may happen. Time will tell.

Now… time to plot a visit to Big Lots, who usually have out their Halloween merchandise by this time of year…
