I have a minor obsession with Ouija boards. As a kid, I’d play with them by myself. I even literally threw one into a burning wood stove in the hopes something would happen. My first girlfriend and I would sneak into local graveyards and consult with the Ouija (and then make out).
Nowadays, I have a rule: if I ever see a used Ouija board for sale at a thrift store or garage sale, I have to buy it… or should I say adopt it?
And all this in spite of never having had any luck getting the board to “talk” or cause any other freakishness.
A couple years ago I made the following short film, “Choke”, about what not to do with a Ouija board.
Whether or not you take a peek, please let me know if you’ve had any success, or freakishness, as a result of using a talking board.

I have never used a Ouija board, but I have listened to the Morrissey song several times.

When I was a kid growing up in a cul-de-sac, the neighborhood kids got together and created one on paper and messed around it. We quickly got bored, then left it alone, but we noticed when we went to another kids house — creepy things were happening, like a TV wouldn’t turn off, even when we pulled the plug.
umm, we’ve used the ouija many times, and we’ve had sucess. And it has been in the room with us at times, a few times we’ve asked it to blow out a candle and it did. And also i was at a friends house and we asked if it was in the room it moved to yes and then the door opened and it was fully shut. And ouija somehow knows all of our depest darkest secrets. My friend didn’t know what it was so she couldn’t have been moving it. On new years we asked it what my friend Tylers cell phone number was and it said it perfectly, no mistakes. And everyone handling the ouija board had no idea what it was. another time when i was at my friends house we were doing ouija home alone and it said it was going to do us harm we didn’t believe it at first so we kept going, Then my friend said she felt someone pushing hard on her arm, but we didn’t think much of it at the time then i felt like someone was pushing up against my neck, so we asked the ouija if it was hurting us and it said yes, so we stopped right then. Also at our friends house we were doing ouija with a homemade board and Andrea asked the board if it was going to do us any harm and it said go upstaires. We were panicing at first, but later on we went upstaires and i guess it had left by then because nothing wierd happened. We just randomly started using the ouija i the new year, and we haven’t been able to stop since then. It’s very addictive but it hasnt done us any harm besides the neck incident. We find homemade ones work better, cause they are made by you with your energy and you need as much energy as you can get, we’ve had to be very patient with non-homemade ones. We saw the movie with the tips they did help but, before we saw the film we did most of the things we weren;t supposed to do and they haven’t harmed us yet.!
I played a Ouija Board once. Me and my friends started seeing things and one of them not to long ago saw a spirit and tried to hit it with a broom and it shatered. We are all really creeped out about it and if anyone know what we should do I would really like to know. I’m worried about my friends safety. So please help.
I had that same board from the sixties!! My grandmother gave it to me but it burned =(

Me and my cousins use to always play the ouija bored.. it always moved for us. One time we asked it to show us a sign that it was here, we were in a room with candels with the door shut when we heard someone scratching all the way from the top to the bottom of the door we all freaked out and stopped playing right away. a few hours later we decided to play it again, it was very addicting. We then played it again and we told it to scratch the door again but it wouldnt instead we heard banging around inside the closet next to us we all screamed and we in shock it finally stopped and i said i would never play the ouija board again. Last night i ended up playing it again with one of my cousins.. it was moving really fast and we were asking it questions saying do u want us to tell someone something for u and it said yes. we asked what and it said to kill ashley who is my other cousin we said no and goodbye right away only talking to the spirit for less then 5 minutes. Right away after my cousin asked me what that ringing noice was, i didnt hear anything, he said he had heard a phone ringing in his ear. A few minutes later my cousin ( brandon) who i was playing with went upstairs and me and ashley stayed downstairs watching a movie. A few minutes later brandon calls us telling us to stop sending him messages. we had no idea what he was talking about, so i told him to come downstairs and show us the text messages not believing him. I looked at his phone and my heart just stopped in shock. it was a 1111111 number and it said ” im coming for you and im downstairs waiting for you guys.” i thought maybe he wrote it cuz i didnt think something like that could really happen. The next day i came over to my cousins house and he said he had been puking up blood all day at school and that the 1111111 number had called twice but he didnt hear the phone so he didnt answer it. Later on i was looking at his phone to see if there was anything else from that number on his phone and i found a message that said why dont u believe him lisa? why? i’d never been so scared.. it said it was from 1111111 and it was to my cell number but it didnt get sent to my cell it was just on his phone for some reason. I am just praying that nothing else happens to either of us. I will never play the ouija board ever again.

me and my 2 friends were doing it at the pool thing by my house and it was just us three there and we were in the bathrooms with the lights off and some candles lit and we had our fingers on it while we were thinking of a ? and it said brush then we were like wat do u mean and then it said look up and we did and on the shelf above us there was a brush and none of us knew about it or couldve then it told us glove garbage and like yea and then it said danny and thats my dads name then i said wat about my dad and it said come we were kinda confused then we were leaving cuz it was time for them to go and rite as we were leaving my dad was coming it was totally insane
ok like a year ago if that me and three of my friends two which were my cuzins and the other one was a really good freind of us. but anyways we decided to play the game and we madea homemade one and we played it with a candle we asked what the name was and it said skank we asked it how it died and it said her dad and she was named skank cu he called her that before she died and she couldnt remember her real name. we thought someone was pushign it so we asked it to make a sign and when we asked that the one candle we had went out and somehow burnt danielle my cuzin we all freaked out and went down stairs we thought oh we just blew it out so we went to play it again this time we we asked “skank” if she was a good spirit or bad and it said good so we still played we asked it questions thatnoone else knew then if it ad something to do with us we would take our fingers off every question was right so we got freaked out more. then we asked where she was sitting and she said by danielle and hillary my other cuzin and then we asked to take a pic to see if we could get a dot or somthing and it said yes we did and it came out really bad like a old photo like black and white. so we took a random picture to see if it was the camera when we did it was of maicees mirror and when we looked at it we saw a face in the mirror. we were on the floor and maicee looked up and she saw a hand in the shadows and it was hitting danielle up side the head so me and maicee put the candle ABOVE our heads so we could turn the lights on and the thing went out again and burnt all four of us on the hands the girl said she had a thing about hands she didnt like them. well we dropped the candle and started to screamas loud as we could and when we all got the courage to get up we went downstairs and asked her dad why he didnt come up to see what was wrong and he said he didnt hear us yelling. we decided about an hour later to play it again and this time we asked for someone else but “skank” wouldnt let us so we played with her and she started to say die over and over again so we said goodbye and we decided to burn the board well a couple months later maicees house burnt down and it started with the wodd stove we put the board in. weve all played the ouija board since then and everytime we play with like two of the four of us we all ways get skank. and the other day we were all hanging out and we where playing gh3 and we where thinking about that night and we all said that how creepy it would be if the screen stopped and skank came over the screen just as we said that the screen stopped we all freaked out and ran downstairs . thats all the experince that ive had sorry for how long it is

I have a Ouija Board and I have had a GREAT time using one. I have ‘talked’ to one one person and it seems he keeps reappearing to talk more.
One night, Me and my best friend were using one, and he started to talk about this girl dying in a ditch in Alabama. Later, he spelled the city out. We googled and it was a real city and about 40 years ago, a girl named Abby (which was the name told us) went missing and they later found her in a ditch.
Creepy, yes, but I am completely fascinated by the board.
I will continue to use one. (:
My friend and I tried using a homemade one but it never worked! Is that cuz of distractions or because we’re not doing it at 12:00AM???
Oh.. and what exactly do u have to do to call the spirit? Turning the coin in circles does not help!! WE even tried inviting the negative energies in… nothing!!

I try to not use my home made ouija board to much, but i cant help it. Anyway one time my friend and i were messing with my board and just after we warmed it up my friends mom comes in the room and starts bitching about the ouija board. Then the planchette (shot glass) went to “Good by” . I go back to my house hid the board in my dresser left to grab a Cola and when i came back the board was on my bed. Also when ever I go to bed with the ouija board close by i here whispering. Now that doesnt sound much like freakishness but in real life I am scared shitless, and I dont know what to do. Have any advise?

to avery, Get rid of the board if its creeping you out. or if you want to. get another friend and try it again. ask it some questions. Because it seems that whatever it is, it wants to talk to you. Me i have never used one at my house. number 1 reason is because i dont want to intice anything in my house to do anything. where i grew up i have allways herd voices and doors opening and closing. ive seen faces on the walls and shadow figures around my room and my house. that is what got me to do something like play with an ouja board. but i have gone to a graveyard and messed around with one. we asked it questions and near the end we asked what its name was. it spelt out Sara. we went out to the stone tablet(yes it is an old graveyard) and we found a sara that was buried there. and we went back and ask if it was nice. it started to go towards yes then went very quickly to no.. and we got out of there. If your not ready for this i would not recommend using one. you could piss whatever it is off and then your in a whole lot of shit. just be careful.
