Steve at Hollywood Gothtique attempts to answer the oft asked, “Which is the best of the major Southern California haunted attractions?” by breaking down the “big four” in Los Angeles: Knott’s Berry Farm’s Halloween Haunt (aka Knott’s Scary Farm), Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest, and the Queen Mary Shipwreck. According to Steve, each has their own advantage, from more elaborate sets, to more mazes, to simply having a naturally scarier atmosphere.
But what do you think, L.A. Halloween enthusiasts? Do you have a favorite? Share in our poll here, and let us know more in the comments.

Though the haunts listed are awesome and definitely have some big budget production value, I always like the Spooky House attraction out in Chatsworth.
They tend to have more offbeat themes and different scares that you’re not going to find in the corporate attractions.
Kinda like the difference between a big budget film and an independent film. Both can be good in their own ways.
Why all of the of the Frightfest hate people? You know deep down in your heart that Six Flags is the best place of Halloween, you shouldn’t have “gag” voted for all the other choices.
I’ve been to each attraction listed, and without a doubt, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is by far the best! So much detail and intense sequences set it ahead of the rest.
