HorrorBuzz.com is bringing HORROR MOVIE NIGHT to The Frida with director Tommy Lee Wallace’s 1982 horror classic HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH, hosted by Senior Editor Jeff Heimbuch! There will be a special prize giveaway for the best Halloween III cosplay, and plenty of Trick or Treat candy to go around!
A Halloween film without Michael Myers? Upon its release, audiences didn’t know what to make of an installment in a slasher series without the series’ slasher – but over the years, love for Halloween III has grown, and this gloriously nutty hybrid of sci-fi and horror has gained a cult following, boosted by nostalgic memories among horror-heads of that now-iconic Silver Shamrock jingle (“It’s almost time, kids…”).
How’s this for a plot: Dr. Daniel “Dan” Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin), the daughter of a murder victim, uncover a plot by mask maker Conal Cochran (Dan O’Herlihy), who as it turns out is actually a madman who’s planning a Halloween mass murder utilizing an ancient Celtic ritual. The ritual involves a boulder stolen from Stonehenge, the use of Silver Shamrock masks, and a triggering device contained in a television commercial — all designed to exact a ghastly reckoning upon millions of children.
