Screamfest's 2009 line up revealed: "House of the Devil" and "The Fourth Kind" featured

hod1There’s no denying Screamfest has an impressive track record. Last year it was the lone Los Angeles location to see Michael Dougherty’s Halloween anthology “Trick ‘R Treat.” And way back in 2007 they screened “Paranormal Activity,” which has now become the most hyped horror film since “The Blair Witch Project.”

Now, 2009’s Screamfest, October 16-25 at the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood, is toplining its schedule with the 80’s slasher inspired  “House of the Devil” as its centerpiece film, and alien thriller “The Fourth Kind,” starring Milla Jovovich, as its closing night film.

Other films include “Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl,” which I want to see for the title alone, “Cabin Fever 2.” and a free screening of “Wrong Turn 3.” A number of shorts programs are also on the lineup, and tickets for individual films and the shorts programs run for $10 each (plus a $1.50 service charge).

The question to be answered is if  any of the scheduled films will become next year’s “Paranormal Activity?” My money’s on “House of the Devil,” based mainly on the trailer below
