"The Shining" at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Halloween night!

shining-twins.jpgThe folks behind the cemetery screenings, Cinespia, have just announced a special screening of “The Shining” on Halloween night at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The instructions are pretty much the same as other screenings: gates open at 5:30 pm, film begins at 7:00 pm. First come first serve for a $10 cash donation. You’ll be sitting on the cold, damn grass of a cemetery, so bring a blanket – no tall chairs. Bring a picnic! Don’t ever cross the beams (oops, wrong movie). And show early to guarantee a plot with a view.

UPDATE: Check out our coverage of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festivities held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Saturday, October 27th.

undoubtedly the scariest film ever made, the shining is nothing less than perfect. with sublime direction from Kubrick and unsurpassed performances by jack nicholson, shelley duvall and seven year old danny lloyd, it is at once terrifying and entertaining. a caretaker and his family are snowed in at the overlook hotel, and discover that it is haunted by spirits who have a sinister plan for them. Bring blankets, drinks and picnic dinner for this special screening below (and above) the stars.
