BROM Releases a New Nightmare

BROM-3818

A pleasant Brom at Dark Delicacies last Saturday.

Horror and fantasy converge in Brom’s The Child Thief

Brom has a love for the bizarre and fantastic. Through a career spanning well over 20 years, he has produced a morbid cast of demonic characters and heroic creatures in an endless universe of invention. His art has adorned a multitude of book covers and trading cards, and as concept artist, Brom has provided his unique visualization for films, namely the poster for Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, Bless the Child and Van Helsing (the movie blew, but it looked awesome!), and the video games Doom II and Diablo II. Several collections of the works of Brom have influenced and left his fans aghast, and the hits keep on coming.

With the release of his new book The Child Thief, he once again leads us through his twisted and inventive psyche as he weaves a most interesting account from a well-known childhood legend. Only, instead of persuading children to “think happy thoughts” in order to get to Neverland, the formerly fondly thought of “boy who refused to grow up”, steals them for his army.

“Not the Twilight version of Peter-Pan” Brom assures, “It’s dark.”

8-pages of full-color illustrations as well as a plethora of original black and white drawings enrich the pages of the new novel, his third.

Brom’s art is a testament to a form that transcends the fantasy and sci-fi genres and creates an individual province within each piece. His creativity and storytelling through illustration has lead to a course of success in expression of which most artists only dream.
