Just received word from Knott’s that Sony Pictures has pulled the planned “Zombieland” scarezone from Halloween Haunt. Instead, a scarezone for Sony’s upcoming remake of “The Stepfather” will take its place by the Ghostrider roller coaster.
Update: A rep from Knotts clarified that “The Stepfather” attraction will be a “scare scene,” basically a walk thru with only one setup (it is listed in their press release as a scare zone). I was also informed the reason Sony pulled “Zombieland” from Knotts was to save money for the promotion of the Michael Jackson documentary/concert film “This Is It” being released Halloween weekend.
