The ghosts of literary greats seem to be busy at Hollywood Forever Cemetery lately.

Last month, Mark Twain, portrayed by Val Kilmer in prosthetic make up, performed a one man show inside the historic cemetery’s Masonic Lodge.

On April 25th, the Masonic Lodge will take a darker turn for “a summoning of the great spirit of Edgar Allan Poe,” and a special screening of “The Raven,” starring John Cusack. In the new film, Edgar Allan Poe must stop a serial killer in 1800′s era Baltimore who’s been using the author’s stories as inspiration for his murders.

You won’t find tickets to this special event anywhere. But CreepyLA was able to use some nefarious means to obtain a pair of passes for one lucky reader. If you want them, we’re gonna make you flex your own literary muscle.

For your chance at the tickets, leave a comment on this Facebook status update with your own short Edgar Allan Poe inspired poem (8 lines maximum). We’ll be randomly selecting the winner, but we like to make you sweat. Entries due by noon Monday, April 23rd.

Good luck, creeps!

  1. Hildahotchkiss says:

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride, In the sepulchre there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea.

  2. Lenore spoke, the wind moved colder. With dread of Edgars stare, I couldn’t,wouldn’t,shouldn’t dare to share. Lenore said,”all his fair in love and sinner”, Allan comb his hair a twikle in his eyes said,”try if your not scared but to be cold is not care”. Lenore!Lenore!Lenore! I cried, how could I care for one true beauty whom hearts beats like Poe’s , the two are peas and carrots, more like death and souls. Rest in peace because the after life is still cold.-f.Alexander,H.
