This weekend, Heritage Square hosts their 7th annual Halloween and Mourning Tours. Attendees will learn about Victorian era funeral practices, which included keeping the bodies inside of private homes for days. On Saturday, a medium and spirit photographer will also be in attendance with presentations on the spiritualism movement, and on Sunday a paranormal investigation group will report on some of their techniques and recent findings. Additional vintage Halloween fun throughout the weekend.
Heritage Square is eerie enough as is. Set at the dead end of a cul-de-sac along the Los Angeles River, the square is a museum of Victorian houses that were rescued from potential demolition and moved there. While there have not been consistent reports of hauntings, the homes at Heritage Square are certainly welcome the possibility of a ghost. As such the people there have created a poll, asking visitors to vote on “Which building at Heritage Square Museum do you think is the most likely to be haunted?”
If you’ve been to Heritage Square, you can click that link and vote any time. If not, take a peek at the houses on their site. (click for individual houses under the “online tour” tab in their right sidebar).
