6024 Carlos Ave., Los Angeles, CA
Elizabeth Short, aka The Black Dahlia, lived at this location, in a since demolished home, for a couple months with friend Anne Toth around August 1946. The home was owned by Mark Hansen, who ran the Florentine Gardens nightclub. At the same home he was shot in the chest by a disgruntled showgirl named Lola Titus in 1949, but survived.
(Hansen’s name was also stamped on a “little brown book” that had been recovered in a trash can along with some of Short’s personal belongings, shortly after the Dahlia killing).
