Chucky, The Purge, and more Remix coming to Halloween Horror Nights

HHN-2013-Monsters-PR-Image with txtUniversal Studios Hollywood has been churning out updates this week as they build momentum for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Things kicked off last Saturday at ScareLA with the reveal that they would be debuting a maze based on the “Insidious” supernatural film franchise, and followed up earlier this week with news that Horror Nights staple Chucky, from the “Child’s Play” horror series, would have his own scare zone, and another scare zone would be filled with characters from the recent film release, “The Purge.” And today, Horror Nights wrapped out the week announcing the return of the HHN Monsters Remix maze… with a few interesting twists.

Last year, Monsters Remix debuted inside Universal Studios Hollywood’s House of Horrors, featuring a heavy dose of bass thumping dubstep as a soundtrack to an otherwise conventional maze featuring classic Universal Horror monsters. For 2013, the rechristened Universal Monsters Remix: Resurrection maze will have a dubstep soundtrack provided by Figure, and creatures within designed by winners of Universals own “Design A Character” contest and from a competition that can be seen on SyFy’s channel’s “Face Off.” (the episode airs August 20th).

All this is on top of previously announced mazes based on the music of Black Sabbath, the recent film release “Evil Dead,” and AMC TV’s “The Walking Dead.” Halloween Horror Nights opens September 20th, tickets going on sale soon.
